Project Execution

Bathroom renovation projects involve many elements that need to be considered - we make sure to help customers make informed decisions and stick to the defined project plan once it is established. We know that renovating a bathroom is often a big decision for our customers and make sure the entire process is transparent and enjoyable.

Once the scope is fully defined, we ensure that our clients receive a detailed estimates, which help make sure that expectations are defined and met at project completion. We treat your budget with respect, doing everything in our power to make sure that every project is delivered on budget.

Wherever subcontractors are involved (ex. plumbing, HVAC, etc.), we make sure to use some of the best trades people in our community, helping maintain a high standard of quality and reliability in all project steps.

Tub to Shower Conversions

Many of our clients convert existing bathtubs to walk-in showers. Such projects make sense for different reasons - both in terms of visual appeal, functionality, and safety, when it comes to clients with limited mobility.

Whether we are asked to convert an existing tub or jacuzzi into a beautiful curb-less rainfall shower with multiple jets or simply help clients create a highly accessible shower with support bars and a convenient built-in seat, we believe that all projects can be made beautiful, regardless of the intended use.

As part of our consultation process, we work through some of the pros and cons of different shower installation choices and make sure that the final project plan meets client needs, tastes, and budget.

Material Selection

As part of our consultation process, we help homeowners decide which materials and tile formats would be the best fit for a given project.

Large format tile offers a number of advantages, as less grout lines mean less effort is needed to keep grout in good shape. The look that can be accomplished with properly selected large format tile is also extremely appealing.

Alternatively, small format tile provides a number of opportunities in terms of more complex designs and tile layouts. We often work with timeless brick pattern installations but have a lot of different options available for those that wish to create a more unique look - vertical brick, herringbone, basketweave, and diamond patterns are just a few of the options our clients may select.

We love working with natural materials like marble, travertine, slate, and natural pebble stone - these can help create absolutely beautiful designs. We make sure that all natural materials are sealed with the best impregnating sealant on the market but consideration should still given to ongoing maintenance requirements. We make sure to review these in detail before material choices are finalized.

Waterproofing

Waterproofing in shower installations is critical, as it is essential to avoid any risk of water penetration and ensure that the bathroom lasts for years to come.

The choice of waterproofing membranes—liquid-applied coatings or sheet membranes like Schluter-KERDI depends on the project’s specifics and substrate.

Following best practices, such as overlapping seams properly, and extending coverage up walls or around fixtures, is key; shortcuts can lead to leaks, moisture damage, or tile failure. When done correctly, effective waterproofing ensures durability, protecting the underlying structure and maintaining the tile installation’s integrity for decades, even under constant water exposure.
